Genus Protoplagiopyxis Bonnet, 1962

Diagnosis: Shell chitinous with covering of extraneous mineral particles (xenosomes), morphology intermediate between those forms of Centropyxis with visor and Plagiopyxis; aperture a straight or crescent-shaped slit of ‘plagiostome’ type with tendency to ‘cryptostome’ (pseudostome located back into the lest), no vestibule, but the apertural region is well separated by the fairly abrupt dorso-ventral depression in the anterior part. Ventral sole flattened very clearly and little or not inclined.

Type species: Protoplagiopyxis delamarei Bonnet, 1962

Three species.

Habitat: soil.
