Amphitrema congolense Van Oye, 1958
Diagnosis: Test sub-cylindrical, regularly ovoid, sometimes slightly pointed towards one pole. Test chitinous with very few mineral grains in the mid region. Both apertures are surrounded by mineral grains that form irregular collars.
Dimensions: Length 53-70 µm (n=4); width 32-40 µm; L/W ratio 1.51-1.93.
Ecology: Freshwater. Congo, Africa.
Remarks: Van Oye (1958) considered the mineral grains around the apertures as characteristic.
