Syn.: A. amphora Van Oye, 1926

Diagnosis: Test ovoid terminating in a point and resembling a Greek amphora. 1-14 ovular nuclei.

Dimensions: Diameter 52-76 µm; height 100-130 µm; pseudostome 20-30 µm (Schaudinn, 1898); diam. 160 µm; height 200 µm (Van Oye, 1926).

Ecology: Freshwater; East-Africa (Schaudinn), Congo (Van Oye)
