Biomyxa vagans Leidy, 1879
Diagnosis: Cell during migration often stelliform, with a center containing the single nucleus. Pseudopodia (reticulopodia) radiating in all directions, with ramifications and anastomoses, giving the cell a netlike appearance. Bidirectional streaming as in foraminifers does not occur; centrifugal and centripetal movements are alternating, albeit simultaneously only in different parts of the specimen.
Remarks: This species contains a centrosome-like sphere in the centre (MTOC), indicated by a red arrow by Steffen Claus.
