This large amoeba was found in floating debris, March 2013, short after the ice on the ditches had melted. It was present in several samples from the Naardermeer and Laegieskamp. There was large variation in size between cells. The number of nuclei was difficult to count because of the ample food inclusions. An estimate number is 30 per amoeba. Several cells were completely green because of the ingested algae, which were no zoochlorellae. In the same samples also large numbers of Trichamoeba myakka were present, together with Trichamoeba sinuosa.
