Cochliopodium spec.

Diagnosis: in locomotion rounded to oval, no subpseudopodia observed, only a broad anterior margin of hyaloplasm. Nucleus vesicular with central granular nucleolus. Scales small.

Dimensions: Length in locomotion about 14 µm (n=1); nucleus c. 3 µm; height of scales about 0.6 µm.

Ecology: fresh water, Weser river, Germany.

Remarks: I have only seen one specimen.
