Cyclopyxis insolitus Decloitre, 1969

Diagnosis: Test covered with very large mineral particles, mixed with very small ones. The big ones seem to be on top of all the small ones. But what characterizes it is the inner edge of the pseudostome which is circular. It is formed of rather large particles presenting a very particular aspect. The portion of the particles turned towards the center of the pseudostome is almost invisible (perhaps because of its thinness): to observe it, it is necessary to use all the lighting devices: oblique light, colored screen, polarization. On the other hand, the lateral parts of these stones and the posterior parts are lined with a very thick black cement, all giving the pseudostome a particular aspect.

Dimensions: Test diameter: 70 μm; thickness: 60 μm; pseudostome; 25 μm; oral depth: 12 μm.

Ecology: Forest soil. Forest of Assalem, 70 km from Bandar-Pahlevi, Iran.
