Cyclopyxis intermedia Kufferath, 1932

Diagnosis: Shell brown, usually circular in ventral and dorsal view, more than hemispherical in lateral view (height/diameter = 0.72); lateral sides evenly rounded; dorsal side usually flattened, composed of xenosomes more distinct and rough on dorsal surface than on smoother ventral half. Pseudostome in centre of ventral surface, distinctly and evenly invaginated, perfectly or roughly circular, with edge covered by rather regularly arranged, small xenosomes.

Dimensions: Literature 210-220 µm; my measurements: diameter of shell 188-212 µm (n=4).

Ecology: Freshwater and soil, mosses. Probably cosmopolite. I found it at Landgoed Groeneveld, Baarn.

The aperture is bordered by a collar of small particles. Some larger stones lay around the aperture.
