Cyclopyxis kahli crucigenia
C. kahli var. crucigenia, after Stepanek, 1963

Cyclopyxis kahli var. crucigenia  Stepanek, 1963

Diagnosis:  This variety differs from the type by a small and highly invaginated pseudostome. In apical view, the pseudostome is difficult to detect. In lateral view, the half-sphere is a little elevated. The test, light brown, is rich in mineral grains, but remains transparent. The invagination of the pseudostome is very strong, reaching almost half the height of the shell.

Dimensions: Diameter 75 µm, height 50 µm, aperture 20 µm.

Ecology: Czech Republic

Remarks: The variety differs from its basic form only by the shape of the aperture, which is four-lobed, like a rounded cross. Color and structure of the test are not different from Cyclopyxis kahli.
