Cyphoderia ampulla (Ehrenberg, 1840)
Diagnosis: shell elongated pyriform, colorless or faintly yellow-brown, composed of numerous small circular scales, circular or faintly compressed in cross-section; aperture circular or broad-elliptical; curved neck; fundus hemispherical or with a mammilated apex; plasma with many dark granules; nucleus large, granular; fine straight filopodia.

Ecology: in wet mosses, sphagnum and debris of shallow waters.
Remarks: a variable species.
