Diaphoropodon archeri  De Saedeleer, 1934

Diagnosis: According to De Saedeleer the only difference between D. mobile and this species is its size and probably the nucleus. Dumack et al.: The nucleus (approx. 5–6 µm) is usually located at the apical end of the cell (opposite to the aperture), most often
spherical. The nucleolus seems to be lamellar in shape. The nucleus is surrounded by granules that separated the apical end of the cell with the nucleus from food vacuoles and contractile vacuoles close to the aperture. Division longitudinal.

Dimensions: De Saedeleer: 40.8 – 57.3 µm long, and 40.8 – 45.9 µm broad.

Ecology: oligotrophic freshwater
