Difflugia capreolata

D. capreolata, 293-440 µm long, all from the same location

Difflugia capreolata var.

Diagnosis: As for the nominal type, but much larger.

Dimensions: My observations: 340-440 µm, nucleus 71-75 µm.

Ecology: This variety was found in sediment of a stream in Renkum (Renkumse beekdal, the Netherlands). However, a large test (340 µm, see image below) was also observed in a population with specimens of normal size in Crailoo, the Netherlands.

Remarks: a large species with the typical capreolata-nucleus.
