Difflugia heterodentata  Dekhtyar, 1993
= D. rubescens?

Diagnosis: Test transparent, mostly round, sometimes slightly laterally compressed, covered with flat, tightly packed grains of sand and fragments of diatoms. Pseudostome round, surrounded by a low, clear collar, on the inner surface of which 6-8 teeth are located, but there may be 12 large well-formed teeth and the “rudiments” of others in the form of a small tip or tubercle.

Dimensions: Length 88-105 µm, width 72-96 µm, neck 16-17 µm, pseudostome 30-46 µm. L/W 1.2.

Ecology: Freshwater.

Remarks: This species seems more compact than D. rubescens and Pseudodifflugia africana, to which it’s closely related.
