Difflugia kabylica  Gauthier-Lièvre et Thomas, 1958

Diagnosis: Test ovoid with a well-defined circular collar. Pseudostome bordered with regular mineral grains forming a necklace; these grains are rarely missing, but when they are lacking, the base of the collar is marked by a strangulation of the test and the free edge tends to flare slightly outwards. Some populations show transparent forms with few xenosomes and a well-formed neck; but these specimens show an alteration of the contour of the pseudostome which is no longer perfectly circular but is vaguely polygonal. Tests with many xenosomes are abundant and often with some large stones.

Dimensions: Length 53 µm, width 48 µm.

Ecology: Freshwater. Africa.
