Difflugia parva  (Thomas, 1954) Ogden, 1983
= Difflugia oblonga var. parva Thomas, 1954

Diagnosis: Test pyriform, tapering evenly from the swollenand rounded aboral third, to the aperture for the remaining two-thirds. It is composed of a mixture of small to medium pieces of quartz, often with the addition of two or three large pieces. Zoochlorellae always present.

Dimensions: Thomas (1954): Length 165-210 µm; Gauthier-Lièvre et Thomas (1958): size variations are between 150 µm (minimum) and 300 µm (maximum).

Ecology: Freshwater. In sediment of lakes and ditches, in Sphagnum. Europe, South-America, Africa.
