Difflugia vermiformis  Snegovaya and Alekperov, 2005

Diagnosis: The shell is elongated, flattened and curved, with a blunt spine on the aboral end. Pseudostome ovoid and surrounded by a well-defined thin collar. Shell wall formed by transparent plates of variable size. The cytoplasm is colorless, without inclusions. There are 1-2 short lobopodia.

Dimensions: Length of shell 125-135 µm; width 75-85 µm; pseudostome diameter (25-35 µm.

Ecology: Freshwater. On aquatic plants in the shallow bays of the Kurakchay rivers.

Remarks: According to Snegovaya and Alekperov, 2005, this species clearly differs from all representatives of the Difflugia genus in shell shape.
