Diagnosis: shell ovoid, in cross-section circular; aperture circular, bordered by one row of serrated scales; body scales elliptical or nearly circular; plasma and pseudopodia normal.

Dimensions: literature 55-100 µm

Ecology: Sphagnum and other mosses, also in sediments and between waterplants.
