Genus Echinocystis Mikrjukov, 1997

Diagnosis: Centrohelea with a periplast of internal tangential plate scales and external radial scales. The radial scales have a shaft with two lateral wings extending along it, and a basal wing oriented perpendicular to the lateral ones.
Eight freshwater, rarely brackish, species.
