Genus Gocevia Valkanov, 1932

Diagnosis: discoid or spherical in shape, with a central granular mass which is globular or flattened and hump-like, in most species partly or completely surrounded by a distinct hyaline margin; surface with a more or less dense layer of adhering refractive particles such as mineral grains; hyaline zone often irregular in outline with some conical or digiform subpseudopodia; cells uninucleate or binucleate.

Ecology: fresh water

Remarks: Little is known about this genus, so are lightmicroscopical characters. I have observed specimens with a covering of particles which behaved just like Flamella, look here. They even could get rid of their covering and moved further without.
