Leptomyxa australiensis (Chakraborty & Pussard, 1985) Smirnov et al., 2016

Diagnose: Cells in limax form 50-180 µm long; more than 95% uninucleate; rarely up to 4 nuclei; oblong or oval nucleolus 3–5 µm in maximal dimension; single walled cysts, but size like the amoebae, very variable; mitochondria round or cylindrical with tubular cristae; golgi arranged as stacks

Dimensions: Length in locomotion 50–180 µm; cysts 15–50 µm (mean 37 µm). Nucleus 6.5–13.0 µm in diameter (mean 10 µm).

Ecoloy: Freshwater.
