Leptomyxa sp., slowly retracting in respons to the light of the microscope

Leptomyxa sp.

Diagnose: Slowly moving amoebae spreading out their pseudopodia in all directions, but usually fan shaped. One nucleus observed. Length in locomotion 100–200 µm.

Ecology: Dry moss on a tree in the Sierra Maestra, Cuba, 2018. The moss was rinsed in demineralized

Remarks: I have found only one specimen in a wet mount with material from dry moss.
