Leptomyxa flabellata (Goodey, 1915) Smirnov et al., 2016

Diagnose: Cells varying in size, c. 50-500 µm, according to nuclear number, but often toward lower end of range, exceptionally larger; number of nuclei c. 10, rarely more than 50; double walled cysts, but size like the amoebae, very variable; mitochondria round or cylindrical with tubular cristae; golgi arranged as stacks

Dimensions: Length in locomotion 50–500 µm; cysts 25–65 µm (mean 40 µm). Nucleus 14–17 µm in diameter.

Ecoloy: Freshwater.
