Lesquereusia spiculosa Playfair, 1917

Diagnosis: Test wider than long, with a very straight neck; main body detached of the neck and bulging on one side, with regularly circular outline. Test smooth, embedded with small straight ‘spicules’ mixed with a few siliceous (quartz?) particles, more specifically placed in the center of the test. Spicules appear not to be diatoms, according to Playfair.

Dimensions: Playfair: Length 108 µm; width 127 µm; pseudostome 42 µm. T

Ecology: Freshwater. Australia.
