Limnogromia linearis
Limnogromia linearis, no 433 of the Penard Slides Collection in Geneva

Limnogromia linearis (Penard, 1902) Siemensma et al., 2017

Penard’s description of G. linearis seems clear. Slide 433 of the Penard collection contains four specimens, all labeled “G. linearis”, but one of them is very different in shape and structure (see first specimen below). It has a thin test wall and an elongated ovoid shape. The nuclei of the four specimens have the same structure but they most probably do not belong to the same species.
