Nebela aliciae
N. aliciae, from Kosakyan et al., 2012

Nebela aliciae Mitchell et Lara, 2012

Diagnosis: The test is wide pyriform, with a lateral keel about 5 µm wide, laterally compressed, with a small lateral pore on each side. The test is composed of small oval particles likely obtained from preys (i.e. euglyphid testate amoebae). The aperture is oval, linear.

Dimensions: Length: 104-115 µm, breadth: 76-93 µm, width of aperture: 24-27 µm (n-7).

Ecology: Dry mosses, Costa Rica (Kosakyan et al., 2012), Sphagnum, Bulgaria (Todorov and Bankov, 2019).

Remarks: This species resembles Nebela tincta ssp. galeata, which is larger. However, the measurements of N. alicae are based on seven shells. It is well possible that shells in other populations have larger or smaller dimensions.
