Nebela flabellulum (Leidy, 1974)

Diagnosis: Shell colorless, circular or ovoid, usually broader than long, with a short neck, and a small lateral pore on each side; shell laterally compressed, in cross section oval, and composed mainly of oval or circular shell plates, smaller shell plates or beads of cement are often seen between the larger shell plates; aperture oval and surrounded by a collar of organic cement.

Dimensions: Length (= height) 68-96; breadth 89-100 µm.

Ecology: Sphagnum swamps.

Remarks: This species can be distinguished from N. collaris and N. tincta which it closely resembles, by being wider in size than it is long.
