Penardia mutabilis = Chlamydomyxa labyrinthuloides

Remarks: Page and Siemensma (1991) recognize one species, P. mutabilis. From bogs, Europe.
It is questionable if this is a separate species, because it has striking similarities with Chlamydomyxa labyrinthuloides, a heterokont algae. I consider Penardia mutabilis as a junior synonym of C. labyrinthuloides.
