Plagiopyxis callida Penard, 1910
Diagnosis: Shell in ventral view circular, in lateral view more or less hemispherical; aperture a subterminal, elongated slit, ventral lip dipping far into the interior of the shell, rounded, very difficult to observe. Surface of shell covered with mineral particles; pseudopodia numerous, radiating, short, pointed or palmate; nucleus vesicular.
Dimensions; Diameter 55-135 um, but usually 90-110 um.
Habitat: Soil and xerophile mosses.
