Polychaos spec.

Diagnosis: Large amoeba with an irregular more or less polypodial shape during slow locomotion; uroid finely papillated, usually very large fasciculate uroid; crystals small, paired like in Mayorella species; broad monopodial form during rapid locomotion; nucleus spherical, with large eccentrically placed nucleolus which has a rough or irregular surface. One large contractile vacuole.

Dimensions:  About 300 µm long, nucleus 40 µm; nucleolus 28 µm; crystals < 2 µm (n=1).

Ecology: Freshwater. In an old peat bog, in sediment of the Ganzenpoel, the Netherlands, 2019.

Remarks: I have only seen one specimen. It is not possible to tell from that single observation whether this is an undescribed species or just an aberrant form with regard to the shape and structure of the nucleus.
