Genus Proplagiopxis Schönborn, 1964

Diagnosis: Test more or less circular in dorsal view, in lateral view with two convex sides with a slight slope to the aperture. Test brown, xenosomes lacking or rare. Aperture eccentric and circular without invagination.
Type species: Proplagiopyxis nuda Schönborn, 1964

Diagnosis: As for genus.

Dimensions: Diameter 60 µm; height 25 µm; aperture 12 µm.

Ecology: Forest soil near Lake Stechlin, Germany.
