Sphenoderia compressa Badewitz, 2002
Diagnosis: Test ovoid, oval in cross section, hyaline, covered with relatively small, oval, rather irregularly arranged plate-scales that overlap like roof tiles. At the base (pseudostome), the plate-scales become smaller and merge into an unmarked, more or less smooth, narrow pseudostomal edge. The pseudostome is a convex gap. No pseudopodia were observed.
Dimensions: Length 62-70 µm; width 36-47 µm; pseudostome 18-26 µm.
Ecology: Freshwater, forest stream, between Fontinales, Oberharz, Germany.
