Diagnosis: tangential plate scales with irregularly arranged upper-tier holes; outer layer of hollow terminally toothed, cylindrical and robustly columnar, radial spine scales, largely or entirely non-perforated by lateral holes.
Etymol: turris L. tower, because of the robust columnar shape of the spine scales like a round lighthouse tower; placous Gk (a flat cake) refers to the plate scales.

8 species.

Turriplaca triangula,
basionym Pinaciophora triangula Thomsen (1978)
(synonym Rabdiophrys triangula Roijackers and Siemensma, 1988).
